Primary Teachers CPD at Hampton Court in partnership with Arts Award

The session provides teachers with the opportunity to explore Hampton Court Palace and look at the diverse art forms on display, consider how to use these to enrich the KS1 and KS2 Curriculum back in the classroom, and explore effective ways to gather evidence to achieve an Arts Award.

FREE. Thursday 19 March 2020. 2-5:30PM

Posted: 10/03/2022

The session will include a palace tour delivered by a costumed
interpreter who will provide unique insight into art at Hampton Court,
offering inspiration for teachers thinking of bringing their students on
a self-led visit.

Teachers will also have the chance to take part in an ideas-sharing workshop about:

  • Planning and preparing for a visit to a heritage site.
  • Using your heritage visit to support high-quality learning in the classroom.
  • Criteria, expectations and evidence-gathering relating to Arts Award.

For teachers unfamiliar with Arts Award, the session also provides an
overview of the awards, its links to other programmes such as Artsmark,
and how it can add value to your school.
