Creating a devised performance or leading improvisation exercises with children can sometimes be a struggle – particularly if the children concerned only feel they are doing “drama” if they are reading from a script or being directed in the traditional sense.During the course Carolina Giammetta will explore how simple drama games can be used and developed to create environments, characters and themes. She will look at narrative structure and how you can create your own story, as well as looking at inspirational ways of how we can use text to create a unique piece of theatre that is completely owned by your participants but facilitated by you. “Great to meet other workshop facilitators, make contacts and learn new ideas. Carolina was enthusiastic and inspiring”.”It helped me see how any game could be used as a starting point for devising. I often work with large groups and there were some great techniques for including a lot of people”.”The whole day was perfect. Carolina is such a skilled facilitator and the day was structured to both provide games and ideas but also to put these into practice to cement our learning”Date: 9.45am – 5.00pm, Tuesday 27 Feb 2018Venue: Clapham, South West LondonCost: £54 inc VATMore information and booking form: http://bit.ly/2B6sYZt
