An Introduction to Offering Arts Award in a SEN Setting

Join LEAN and Royal Borough of Greenwich for a South London Arts Award Network Meeting focusing on offering Arts Award in a SEN setting.

Date and time: 17 September 2019, 4-6pm

Location: Greenvale School, Waters Road, SE6 1UF

Posted: 07/02/2019

Arts Award develops young people’s creativity and leadership skills, offering the opportunity to explore and enjoy the rich arts offer on their doorstep.

It is designed to be accessible to children and young people with a range of abilities and backgrounds. By focusing on individual learning requirements and measuring personal progress, the accreditation is ideal for those who face barriers to learning or who may not be able to access other qualifications.

  • Discover how Greenvale School (a Community Special School for 11-19 year olds) runs Arts Award
  • Find out the benefits and challenges of Arts Award Silver for SEN pupils

  • Meet Greenvale staff and explore opportunities for future joint moderations

This event will be delivered by Liz Smith, Deputy Headteacher, Greenvale School in partnership with Jane Hendrie, Lewisham Education Arts Network and Geraldine Turton, Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Also joining us to provide advice and guidance on Arts Award is Tanya Harris, Arts Awards Support Consultant.
