A new forum is being established to advise the London Borough of Lewisham on how the borough can use culture to amplify black and other diverse voices and celebrate how Lewisham is strengthened by its diversity.

Lewisham Council is
seeking Cultural Professionals to join the Lewisham Culture and Diversity
Advisory Forum to, in particular:
- To consider public requests to
review aspects of the boroughs public realm and make recommendations into
what legacies should be celebrated in Lewisham to improve the diversity of
the boroughs public realm. This will feed into the GLA Commission
for Diversity in the Public Realm. - To advise how Lewisham can use
the Borough of Culture 2022 to increase our understanding of Lewishams
diverse heritage and history of standing up against racism and inequality. - To advise on the development of
the Borough of Culture 2022 programme to ensure that it fully celebrates
Lewishams diversity. - To advise on how we can improve
pathways and progression routes for young people from backgrounds
currently under-represented within Londons cultural and creative sectors.
Lewisham are seeking individuals with extensive knowledge of
contemporary cultural practice and/or cultural heritage in diverse communities
and a demonstrable personal or professional connection to the London Borough of
Lewisham.
There will be a small attendance fee per meeting which will be
held quarterly.
