The Arts Council has updated its governing framework by publishing Great art and culture for everyone.

While the central elements of the framework remain the same as those in place for the past two years, the document does place slightly more emphasis on the role the arts play in health and wellbeing. The framework states: “We are sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport in order to make the arts, and the wider culture of museums and libraries, an integral part of everyday public life, accessible to all, and understood as essential to the national economy and to the health and happiness of society”.
