Story
Matters is a not for profit, community interest company based in Lewisham. We
produce events, programmes and interventions that use story and storytelling in
creative ways that break down barriers to learning and help children to succeed
at school and in life. We also extend our work to teachers and parents, sharing
ideas and techniques that empower them to support their childrens learning in
new and innovative ways.
Our
current project the Lewisham Story
Festival, will see us deliver our Year 3 Transition Programme in Lewisham
Primary Schools from the 14th -18th September and will
finish with our free Family Weekend on
19th & 20th September, where children from 5-14
and their families will be able to watch performances from authors, poets,
storytellers etc. and take part in story workshops and activities in libraries
and community spaces across the borough.
We are looking for
volunteers from the community to help with the Family Weekend. Below is a list
of roles that you could volunteer for:

Coordinator
We
will have an amazing array of authors, storytellers, poets, artists, musicians
etc. performing during our multicultural Family Weekend in September. If youd
like to be the person that makes sure they are looked after properly and know
when and where they are meant to be, then this role is for you! Come and be
part of the core team on this fun and exciting childrens story festival
happening in September.

Lewisham Story Festival Volunteer Coordinators
Do
you fancy being part of a fun and exciting multicultural childrens story
festival in September, and gaining some experience and training managing a team
of volunteers? Lewisham Story Festival is going to need lots of fantastic
volunteers to make sure children and families have a great time at our venues
across the borough. We also want to make
sure our volunteers have a great time too, and we are looking for a team of
people to coordinate, train and look after them in the run up to and during our
Family Weekend on the 19th & 20th September. This is
a volunteer role. No previous experience necessary.
