We are looking for looking for a mural artist to complete a mural on Lewisham Shopping Centre to celebrate Lewisham during its London Borough of Culture year and beyond 2022.

Lewisham Shopping Centre is owned by Landsec who are pleased to offer a highly visible site (38.5 meters wide) for this commission on the outside of the centre, along Rennell Street (A20) facing Lewisham Station. It is an exceptional opportunity to bring joy and pride to the
people that live and work in Lewisham, but also reach a large number of visitors that pass through the borough.
The mural is an opportunity to celebrate Lewisham, its people and the physical space of the borough. It is a chance to express visually why Lewisham should be proud. We would like the work to spread feelings of unity and pride locally and also share that message with
visitors. The work would also be highlighted London-wide as part of the London Borough of Culture 2022.
Budget
The budget and contract for this commission will be held by Landsec. The total budget allocation is up to £17,750 (+VAT if applicable). This should include all costs relating to the design, development, & installation of the work. This includes the £750 proposal fee below.
Expression of Interest Stage (deadline Wednesday 13th of July)
EOI submissions should include
Examples of previous mural work and site information.
Examples of project management skills and on-time completion of previous works.
Narrative of the reasoning why you would like to take on this commission.
Shortlisted Artists Proposal (£750 fee).
You are asked to submit the following deliverables in return for a proposal fee:
A written outline of the concept and ideas to support the proposal.
A written outline of installation methods and feasibility.
Final design communicated by supporting drawings/ full colour images.
Timeline of installation
A detailed breakdown of how the budget will be allocated, including the following
stages:
o Artists fees
o Materials
o Installation
o Contingency
