The Heritage Education Officer was created as a key part of the Lauderdale Transformed project, and offers an imaginative, adaptable and committed educator the opportunity to play a crucial role in:
building on the considerable groundwork started by the current Heritage Education Officer, and establishing a new heritage programme of artistic educational outreach work, focusing particularly on engaging young people aged between 11 and 24 years with the House and its heritage through formal and informal education
putting Lauderdale House on the heritage map, increasing understanding and awareness of its rich history and building on its arts profile to transform it into a heritage destination in its own right
The appointment is full time: 35 hours per week. Note that office hours are 10am
to 6pm
but the post-holder will be expected to
work evenings, weekends and holidays as required by the projects. No
overtime is payable but
Time Off In-Lieu may be taken where the post-holder works
more
than the
specified number of hours.
Fixed Term:
this is a two-year contract
to
match the funding for the post, although we would hope
that
we are able to fund the post
beyond two years if our
Business Plan meets its targets.
Salary – the starting salary will be £26,000
(starting 2017)
