Freshwater Theatre Company is seeking an exceptionally organised, reliable and self-motivated Marketing and Communications Officer to join our friendly team based in East London.

The postholder will act as the key motivator with regards to Freshwater’s marketing and communication needs. They will be the driving force for the development of Freshwater’s ongoing marketing strategy, ensuring it is in line with the company’s vision and resources. They will also be responsible for maintaining Freshwater’s online presence and positive relationships with schools and relevant organisations, such as museums and libraries, amongst others. Additional responsibilities comprise of co-ordinating marketing events, identifying and analysing marketing data/trends, and composing/creating promotional material.

They will thrive in a hard-working and multi-faceted office environment, taking pleasure in delivering outstanding customer service. The role will require exceptional use of written and spoken English, with the ability to write highly engaging copy. They will work well as part of a small team but will also be able to work independently using their initiative alongside having exceptional attention to detail and deadline management skills. The successful applicant will have a particular interest in working in marketing within the education/arts sector, and have some knowledge of the UK school system.

Freshwater Theatre Company was established in 1996 and is now one of the most respected and renowned drama-in-education companies in the UK. Delivering drama and arts workshops to support most areas of the primary curriculum, the company works with over 150,000 children each year, providing creative and enriching learning opportunities. The core office team is small, exceptionally dynamic, flexible, and responsive to customer requirements.

This post is 35 hours per week (excluding lunch breaks).

The salary is £20,000 – £22,000 per annum (depending on experience)
