Creative Mash is a performing arts education company, located in
Hackney, providing after school classes and holiday workshops for
children and young people. 

They are looking for energetic, enthusiastic, and highly passionate freelance drama and dance workshop facilitators,  to join the team this school summer holidays, delivering Creative Mash Holiday workshops.  

Dates: 26th July-27th August / 9am-4pm daily (you must be available for at least three weeks)

Salary: £500-£600 per week depending on experience

Essential Requirements

  • Theatre or Dance background
  • Experience of delivering drama, dance or storytelling workshops with primary school children or community settings
  • Ability to devise a short theatre play or a dance choreography
    within a few days, engaging children from all backgrounds, levels and
    abilities. 
  • All applicants should be self-employed and are subject to an enhanced DBS check. 

Responsibilities:

Our workshops run daily 9am-4pm and on each day you will be required: 

  • DRAMA FACILITATOR: to deliver one session 2 hours long. Your session
    should include games and devising theatre techniques leading to a short
    performance at the end of the week. 
  • DANCE FACILITATOR:  to deliver two 1 hour long sessions; one for age
    group 5-6 years and one for 7-11 years. Your session should include
    warm up, movement games, and a creative choreography sections leading to
    a short performance at the end of the week.
  • Assist other teachers in your team, when you are not leading your session
  • Ensure children are supervised at all times
  • Ensure you are aware of children’s wellbeing and particular children
    needs- medical, emotional, etc, and make sure that those are actively
    met. 
  • Supervise lunch and snack times
  • Support the set-up, pack down and maintenance of workshop activities.
  • Interact professionally with parents and carers.
  • Participate in one day of practical Creative Mash Training in July.
