One Planet, Many Futures: Responding Creatively to the Climate Emergency

Calling all young creatives, dancers, writers and music-makers!

Date: 26/04/2024 – 26/04/2024

Time:10:30

Do you know a young person who is passionate about the planet? Are they concerned about how climate change is impacting upon the world we live in? And do they want to join with other young people and a team of artists at Trinity Laban to explore a creative response to the biggest issue of our times?

They can join us and work with renowned genre-defying musician Eska Mtungwazi, writer and Young People’s Laureate for London Cecilia Knapp, and dynamic performer and choreographer Sarah Golding. Together they’ll play, test, tinker, and create art that addresses the climate and ecological emergency.

This will be the first phase of what will hopefully become a transformative journey, as they begin the creation of a music and dance performance piece that could eventually join together hundreds of young people across Lewisham as part of 2022 Borough of Culture. Participants will get the chance to work in their preferred art form, as well as to come together to share, learn and build as a wider group.

This FREE project is open to ALL interested 14 – 18 year olds, with priority given to young people living or studying in Lewisham. There will be a series of workshops across May and June 2021, beginning on Sunday 23 May from 10:30 – 15:30.

The deadline for applications is 10 May. To apply, please complete our online form. Places are strictly limited due to current capacity guidelines in relation to Covid-19, so move quickly!

"Just to say a huge thanks ... I am looking forward to progressing with this project thanks to your support, advice and guidance"
