Horniman Museum Community Symposium & Training Day

This symposium is for community and voluntary sector organisations and services, particularly workers who lead groups and support people, and service managers exploring local partnerships and those who may be in a position to work on a community project with the museum between April 2013 and April 2015.

Date: 26/04/2024 – 26/04/2024

Time:09:30

This workshop-based day will include:

  • An opportunity to find out how to get involved in the Horniman’s major 3 year project ‘Collections, People, Stories’
  • Hands on workshops in how to use the museum’s resources of thousand objects from around the world with your group and clients
  • Inspiring talks and case studies to give you ideas of projects using the museum and its anthropology collections
  • A chance to have a say in the way the museum works with its local communities

Details about the Symposium can be found on the Horniman Website and a copy of the flyer is attached to this email.

To book a place please contact communitylearning@horniman.ac.uk, or telephone 0208 2918690

Enter their Lucky Draw!

Before then, the museum is asking London based community sector organisations to complete this short survey to help generate ideas. All survey respondents will be entered into a lucky draw to win either a behind the scenes tour of the Horniman Museum stores OR an annual pass to the Horniman Aquarium.

Complete the survey and tell the museum which object you think sums up the experience of living in London today:
