Army of Creatives 2024

We have had an absolutely fantastic start to our returning Creative Careers Programme for Lewisham Schools. Our mission with Army of Creatives is to inspire the next generation of artists towards creative careers by connecting them with local creative professionals.

The Project So Far

During the first wave of the programme, artists visited 10 different schools across Lewisham, engaging students with diverse career pathways. These visits have brought a plethora of creative professionals into classrooms, including graphic designers, fashion designers, producers, photographers, actors, filmmakers, and many more!

The feedback we have received from teachers has been overwhelmingly positive. Here are just a few  testimonials from educators who have participated:

“What a fantastic opportunity for our students to engage with real, practicing local artists and gain insights into their careers. It was truly inspiring.” – Deptford Green

“The artist’s visit was a remarkable experience for both our students and staff. Their engagement with our students was exceptional, and it created a special moment for all of us.” – Abbey Manor College

“An excellent model to suit schools. They’ve really got this project right.” Trinity Church of England School

As part of our collaboration with local creatives, we have produced an exciting series of supporting video resources. Tailored for young people, parents and teachers, these videos offer valuable insights into a wide range of creative professions. Come and meet our creatives!

How To Get Involved

The programme will be returning to classrooms for just two more weeks, from Monday, April 22nd to Friday, May 3rd. This is a unique learning opportunity not to be missed, providing students with invaluable insights and inspiration into the arts as they prepare for their GCSE options.

Thanks to our successful fundraising efforts, the project can be offered to you entirely free of charge.

If you’d like your school to take part, please contact LEAN’s Creative Programmes Producer Holly on holly@leanarts.org.uk. Alternatively, please fill out the following form here
