This unit by The Open University encourages you to develop your reflection of childrens environments and provides opportunities for you to investigate and evaluate young childrens experiences and your role in supporting them.
Posted: 12/12/2013
This unit challenges you to think about how you might organise an early years setting how resources can influence childrens interactions and how space is used. You will consider how indoor and outdoor spaces are used by children and why it is important to develop spaces where children can be creative, explore, take risks and follow their own interests.
After studying this unit, you should be able to:
- reflect on your own learning and practice, identifying strengths and areas for improvement
- analyse perspectives on how young children learn and develop
- have a critical understanding of young childrens environments
- analyse how early years practitioners can support young childrens learning.
