Through interesting presentations, group discussion and practical sessions, participants will deepen their knowledge of, and develop practical skills in, delivering dance activity/projects against a Health and Wellbeing agenda.
9.30 12:00 Project Managers and Dance Artists develop a greater understanding of;
· The growing Arts and Health sector and the impact of dance when utilised effectively in this context
· Key research projects and their outcomes in relation to dance and various aspects of health and wellbeing
· Current anti-obesity programmes operating in the Lewisham Borough their successes and issues
12:45 16:00 Dance Artists and Project Managers will be divided to focus on the following;
Dance Artists will work practically to;
· Review and explore the structure of a dance class from the perspective of physical/physiological progression
· Consider psychological approaches to class planning and participant engagement in order to foster positive experiences
Project Managers will explore:
· The intricacies of managing Health and Wellbeing focused projects. Considering referrals, funding, marketing, and language
· Effective measurement and evaluation strategies for Health and Wellbeing focussed projects
