Teaching for Creativity

Developing young people's creative and choreographic skills (secondary aged young people)

The day will focus on teaching dance to young people aged 11 and above in both schools and informal youth dance settings. It will include discussion of how to teach for creativity as well as practical sessions on how to develop young people’s choreographic skills and understanding.

This workshop is for Dance artists, teachers and community dance practitioners working with young people in various youth dance settings including secondary schools at KS3 and examination work at KS4.

Laban’s Professional Development Days for dance artists, teachers and community practitioners offer the opportunity to access high quality training that cover a variety of subjects relevant to those working in the fields of dance in education, youth dance, community or health.

Professional Development Days should be booked in advance.

A concession rate of £40 per day for full time students is available with proof of student status (photocopy of NUS card or equivalent).

Practitioners taking the DDTAL qualification as Fast-track students can access the Professional Development Days at the reduced cost of £75 per day.
