A day to explore a range of useful art skills and presentation
techniques.
Working with Professional artist Jack Brown to delve into clay,
lino cut prints, casting with plaster, drawing, photography, film,
apps and printing in chocolate. We will also cover curriculum
links, how to use thinking routines to look critically at artworks
and displays/exhibitions.
The day can be tailored to a more specific skill set if needs be.

The trainer
Jack has worked as an artist in residence at Tidemill Academy
for 10 years. Working across the school Jack has designed a
skills based art curriculum that teaches pupils a range of key art
skills throughout their time at primary school. Skill units include
clay, taking a line for a walk, paint and colour, drawing from life,
3D construction and how to look at art and artists.
Jack works with a range of local cultural spaces and
organisations on projects that get pupils artworks out into the
local community; pupils drawing to live music at The Albany
Theatre, whole school gallery exhibitions, teaching their art
skills at Goldsmiths University and exhibiting work as part of
Deptford X.
Jack also works as a freelance artistic consultant
with The Saatchi Gallery, The Princes Foundation for Children
and the Arts, The Jack Petchey Trust, Deutche Bank and the
Albany,
In 2014, Jack won the Marsh Award for excellence in gallery
education.
