This course for beginners provides an introduction to the key aspects of managing a small group's finances.

It is suitable for new treasurers, committee members, staff or
volunteers who need an overview of the processes required to keep control of
the organisation’s money.
This practical course will give an overview of:
Ways to keep your group’s
money safe Simple methods for recording income and
expenditure Using a budget to control spending
You will need basic literacy and numeracy skills. We will use examples on paper so there is no
need for computer skills at this stage.
You will not need any prior knowledge of bookkeeping and accounts.
If you want training in more depth consider the Essentials of Financial
Management course which builds on this course and goes into more detail. This
is available as a distance learning option – start anytime – or will be
