How to Create Devised Theatre with Children

Bigfoot Arts Education is now taking bookings for its ‘How to create devised theatre with children’ professional development day for teachers and workshop leaders.

Posted: 07/10/2012

Creating a devised performance or leading improvisation exercises with children can sometimes be a struggle – particularly if the children concerned only feel they are doing “drama” if they are reading from a script or being directed in the traditional sense.

Bigfoot’s ‘Organic Theatre Day’ explores the ways in which devised theatre can be exciting and fun for young people.

During the course Carolina Giammetta will explore how simple drama games can be used and developed to create environments, characters and themes.

She will look at narrative structure and how you can create your own story, as well as looking at inspirational ways of how we can use text to create a unique piece of theatre that is completely owned by your participants but facilitated by you.

“An immersive experience which inspires and excites you” – Past Participant.

Venue: Clapham, South West London

Cost: £54 inc VAT
