ABOUT THE TRAINING
Join London Bubble Theatre for a free training for primary school staff. Learn drama techniques to support speech, language and communication skills. Gain an understanding of a whole-body approach to communication, and how developing these skills can be engaging and fun for children and adults alike.
This two hour training will give an introduction to speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and some practical drama approaches that can help children to develop their skills and confidence. This session will suit primary school staff and anyone with an interest in developing communication in a school environment. No drama experience is needed.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
London Bubble is a community theatre company which brings people together to create, participate in and enjoy theatre. We make theatre which explores, connects and celebrates peoples stories.
Working with speech and language therapists we have developed and run ‘Speech Bubbles’ an award winning in-school drama intervention for key stage 1 which promotes communication, confidence and wellbeing through storytelling and acting. This year Speech Bubbles runs in 65 primary schools and is part of a large scale research trial by the Education Endowment Foundation and RSA into how cultural learning approaches can boost academic attainment.
