A New Direction is an organisation that works with and for young Londoners, providing powerful ways for them to access the best of arts and culture.

We have recently been recognised by Arts Council England as London’s lead ‘Bridge’ organisation – connecting the arts, culture and education. This new role gives us a platform to work with all London schools engaging them in the benefits of creative and cultural education. As part of our Bridge role, we are delighted to be able to offer free Artsmark training for schools interested in applying in Round 12, which closes on 12 January 2012.

Each session will be run by an accredited Artsmark trainer and will include the following:

– An introduction to Artsmark and the benefits of applying

– Support and information on Parts 1 and 2 of the application form

– Information about the Artsmark assessment process

– A surgery session for schools that have already started their application, to support on specific areas of the form.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Sessions will be taking place as follows:

Roundhouse (Camden) on 17 November 2011 from 10am to 4pm.

Stratford Circus (Stratford) on 24 November 2011 from 10am to 4pm.

Lyric Hammersmith (Hammersmith) on 1 December 2011 from 10am to 4pm.

This training is open to any London school and is free of charge. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

To book your free place, or to find out about other free training sessions in the London area, please contact Laura Fuller, Programme Associate at A New Direction on 020 8536 5389 or laura.fuller@anewdirection.org.uk.
