Extending children’s learning: The adult’s role

Part of the Professional Development Programme run by Lewisham’s Early Years Improvement Team.

Delegates on this course will: 

1 Discuss the practitioners’ role and the impact they have upon children’s learning; 
2 Investigate the theory and ethos of facilitating learning and teaching; 
3 Look at the provision of a stimulating learning environment to engage children; 
4 Look at adult engagement qualities of sensitivity, autonomy and stimulation and how to use these to review current practice; and 
5 Explore Leuven scales for emotional well- being and involvement of children – developed by Dr Ferre Laevers.
