Speech Bubbles is a KS1 intervention using drama to support children’s speech, language and communication. Developed as a collaboration between Speech and Language Therapists and theatre companies, Speech Bubbles is currently delivered in 65 schools by specially trained drama practitioners working with Teaching Assistants. This year the intervention is part of the Education Endowment Foundation/RSAs ‘Learning About Culture’ research trial which is measuring the impact of cultural learning approaches on academic attainment.
This session is aimed at SENCOs and Senior Management working at Primary Schools in Southwark, Lewisham, Greenwich, Lambeth, Hackney and Newham. Participants will take part in practical drama exercises as well as hearing from Dr Barnes about his work exploring the connections between creativity, communication and wellbeing.
