Exploring Music in Challenging Circumstances

Presented by Sound Connections and Wigmore Hall, this one day introductory workshop explores participatory music making with children and young people in challenging circumstances.

Posted: 10/03/2022

Exploring a breadth of contexts, including work in SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) settings, care homes and prisons, this course practically tackles key skills and valuable approaches when working in this specialised area, addresses barriers facing children and young people in challenging circumstances, and explores the professional routes into the work.

The course also features case studies from existing exemplary activity, including Wigmore Hall’s Music for Life programme; a project that aims to enhance and enrich the quality of life of people living with dementia through interactive music sessions.
