Extend is a cross-art form leadership programme for mid-career professionals working in learning and education

Heres what previous participants of Extend had to say about the programme:
Fantastic opportunity to develop and grow professionally as a leader and as a person in a network of inspiring peers.
Working with a range of participants from different art forms is excellent I have found so many parallels between my work in the visual arts and peers working in theatre.
The Extend programme is one of the best CPD experiences that I have ever had
Developed in response to the under-representation of learning and education staff in leadership roles in the arts and cultural sectors, Extend aims to give participants the confidence and skills to achieve a greater degree of leadership in their future career. This could be through gaining a leadership position or achievements that raise the status of the profession as a whole.
The programme comprises a Professional Development Plan, two Residentials, mentoring and a Group Project for participants and is open to applicants across all art forms and to professionals working in museums, libraries and heritage who meet the eligibility criteria. Previous participants included individuals working for the Royal Opera House, Arnolfini, Phoenix Dance Theatre, National Museum of Wales, Shawcross Arts, Scottish Sculpture Workshop, Seven Stories, Trinity Laban, Sir John Soane’s Museum, Talbot Rice Gallery, National Maritime Museum, Sheffield Theatres and Chapter Arts Centre.
For the 2014-15 Programme, Extend will support up to 15 mid-career colleagues working in learning and education roles in the arts and cultural sectors. It is envisaged that 9 places will be allocated to candidates working in England, 4 to candidates working in Scotland and 2 to candidates working in Wales. Please note the criteria for eligibility: Applicants based in England and Wales may work in the arts, museums, libraries or heritage. Applicants based in Scotland must work in the creative arts sector Extend 2014-15 is funded by Arts Council England, Creative Scotland and the Arts Council of Wales.
