A Beginner’s Guide to Managing Volunteers and Growing a Team

Is your organisation ‘volunteer ready?’ Do you know what steps need to be in place to recruit and get the maximum benefit from having volunteers in your organisation? Why should you recruit volunteers at all? Small charities Coalition are running this session on 25th July 10.00am-2.30pm.

Posted: 07/10/2019

This workshop will help you answer these questions, and, once you’ve
decided to recruit volunteers, guide you how to manage them to ensure
the volunteer and organisation get the best outcome. We will also look at how to grow your team in the most sustainable way possible, ensuring it
fits with the organisations’ mission, vision & values, and keeps the
current team and board engaged.

The workshop will look at:

  • How to put a recruitment process in place

  • Develop volunteer handbooks

  • Induction processes

  • On-going management

  • Growing a team – pros and cons

  • Ensuring fit with mission and values

  • Practical tips and case studies

This workshop is suitable for people and organisations who are
thinking about volunteer recruitment and growing their team; or who
already have volunteers in place, and want a refresher. There will be
practical examples, discussion and time for Q & A.
