Greenwich Music School (GMS) is a charity providing music courses for babies through to adults. Having recently been accepted onto the Sound Connections Innovate programme, with support to set up a new early years project in Greenwich and Lewisham childrens centres, GMS wanted to learn more about how to evaluate and reflect effectively.

Sound Connections Programme Managers, Julia Roderick and Jennifer Raven, spent an afternoon working with GMS staff exploring what evaluation is, why it is of value to different stakeholders, what the best evaluation frameworks are, and how to create practical and meaningful evaluation tools. There was also time to consider how to ensure evaluation is relevant and beneficial to participants.
Bethan Scolding, GMS Director, said that it was an excellent, clear training session that was applicable to our work. It was very focussed, with no time wasted. I think it will improve our communication with stakeholders, providing us with more ways to hear their thoughts and respond to them in our practice.
