It was great to get together with well over 100 Lewisham creatives – both organisations and freelancers – to review the year and have your chance to input and shape the work of Lewisham’s Cultural partnership Board
LEAN is a member of this. There was lots to celebrate, report and talk about including enjoying an aerial performance from SEEN alumna Amanda Thomspon and really good to hear a strong commitment to Arts and Culture from Lewisham new Green Party new mayor Liam Shrivastava and Rotimi Skyers– Cabinet Member for Children, SEND, Youth Empowerment & Culture at Lewisham Council. Great news that People Day is coming back in 2027.
Topics for discussion included how can creatives access more affordable meanwhile space; how can freelancers find out about networking and support opportunities? The new We Are Lewisham site launched this year fulfils a lot of this but not enough people know about it and use it.. If freelancers want to feed back our Freelancer Forum is a great way to ensure your views get represented to the wider partnership.
