Nick Hurd, Minister for Civil Society, today published examples of how local authorities can work well with charities, voluntary groups and social enterprises to minimise the impact of any spending cuts.

At the NAVCA conference Nick Hurd, Minister for Civil Society reiterated the Prime Ministers message to the public sector not to do the easy thing and target charities and voluntary groups for savings.
‘Better Together – Preparing for local spending cuts to the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector’ gives examples of how local authorities can work well with charities, voluntary groups and social enterprises to minimise the impact of any spending cuts.
‘Exposure of the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector to cuts in Public Funding’ is a document that outlines key sources of the data on the VCSE sector which may be used to examine the exposure of the sector to public spending reductions, and improve the operating environment for the sector.
