In response to Covid 19, Brent is rescheduling its Borough of Culture programme until later in 2020, Lewisham's programme will move to 2022 and Croydon will remain scheduled for 2023.

The Cultural Development Team have been in discussion with the GLA and have agreeed that Lewishams Borough of Culture year should be delayed until 2022. Brent will suspend their current programme and continue into 2021.
Mayor of Lewisham, Damien Egan has released the following statement:
The decision to postpone our year of culture has not been an easy one but its important that we are completely focused on keeping services for vulnerable residents going as best we can during the unprecedented challenge that coronavirus presents.
We will continue to work with and support our fantastic cultural partners and grassroots organisations and look forward to celebrating our year of culture in 2022.
