From 1 July 2013 the application and assessment process for Grants for the arts will be changing in order to help Arts Council England streamline their investment process.

The changes include:
- the threshold for small grants – this has been raised from £10,000 to £15,000
- the application process
- the way they appraise applications
- the way they make decisions
Grants for the arts will continue to be their open-application funding programme.
The changes will mean that more of the Arts Council’s time is spent providing a range of development and pre application support to applicants. They hope this will raise the number of new applicants to the programme and the quality of applications. The changes will have no negative impact on success rates for applicants.
