The Arts Council England has announced details of how the £19 million cuts its 2010/11 income from the coalition government will be implemented. These cuts are in addition to an earlier in-year reduction of £4 million announced in the April 2009 Budget.
£1.6 million of these cuts have been passed on to the national charity Creativity, Culture and Education (CCE) and has resulted in the decision to end the Find Your talent programme with immediate effect. This programme had been set up to help young people discover new things, express themselves and to make the most of their talent whether it is music, art, film, theatre, dance, digital media, exploring libraries, museums or heritage.
Paul Collard, Chief Executive of Creativity, Culture and Education (CCE) announced that any local Find Your Talent projects that have already been committed to will continue. Further information can be found on their website.
