Four organisations working in the UK have been awarded a Challenge Fund grant to create opportunities for disabled people in arts and cultural activities.

One of those four successful projects is in South London:
A grant of £188,126 has been confirmed for Oasis Childrens Venture, for the project Making Routes – a partnership between Oasis Childrens Venture, South London Gallery and Battersea Arts Centre. A bus route, the 345, unites the neighbouring communities and partner organisations. The project will connect the communities, bringing diverse participants together as co-collaborators. Disabled and non-disabled artists will deliver inclusive activities across three disciplines: visual arts, play, and performance.
Joanne Brown, from Oasis said: This Spirit grant will have a massive impact on Oasis and the young people we work with. This project will provide unique opportunities for disabled and non-disabled children and young people to experience and participate in a wide range of arts activities which would otherwise be totally out of their reach. Its going to be a very exciting time for everyone involved!
