Cuts to Arts Council funding will have 'a significant impact on the cultural life of this country' says Alan Davey, Arts Council Chief Executive.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport today outlined Arts Council England’s funding settlement for the next four years.
The 29.6% cut will see ACE’s current government grant of £449m drop to £349m by 2014.
National museums will take a cut of 15% and will remain free to enter.
The Arts Council is also being asked to make a 50% cut in its administrative costs.
In addition, funding will end for Creative Partnerships and funding will be cut for the British Film Institute by 15%.
The full breakdown is:
- 2011/12 – £387.7M
- 2012/13 – £359.2M
- 2013/14 – £351.6M
- 2014/15 – £349.4M
The Arts Council will be announcing how they will implement the cuts after a meeting of their National Council on 25 October 2010.
