Appointments to House of Lords from Charity Sector

Civil Society reports on people newly appointed to the House of Lords who have a background in the voluntary sector.

Of 13 new members, they are:

  • Conservative peer Catherine Mayer, who founded Action Against Abduction
  • Conservative peer Amanda Sater, Chair of the Queen’s Club Foundation and of StreetGames
  • Diana Barran, founder of Safe Lives, trustee of Comic Relief and Chair of the Henry Smith Charity 
  • Labour peer Martha Osamor, Chair of Haringey Law Centre
