From its roots in one-off arts performances, Lewisham Live festival has grown year on year to become one of the most important events on the Lewisham youth calendar, with over 2000 young people annually performing to an audience of close to 4000.
The festival- a celebration of the talents of children and young people in music and dance – is produced by a group of local partners from leading organisations in the field of music, dance and performance.
The partners come together regularly to collaborate and create opportunities and projects for the festival, as well as running many projects independently for creatives in Lewisham and beyond. LEAN acts as the coordinating partner for the festival, leading on fundraising, evaluation, management of the Lewisham Live ‘brand’ and hosting a paid intern annually to support the festival.
Current Lewisham Live partners include:
- The Albany
- Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance
- Blackheath Halls
- Lewisham Music
- The Midi Music Company
- The Horniman Museum & Gardens
- Goldsmiths University (Music Dept. and Alchemy project)
- Lewisham Young Mayors Office
