LCEP is a partnership established in response to the Lewisham’s Cultural Strategy published in July 2023.

LEAN is the lead body for Lewisham Cultural Education Partnership (LCEP), a partnership established in response to the Lewisham’s Cultural Strategy [HERE] As part of this, LEAN committed to “develop a wider forum to bring together schools, youth and children’s services, and cultural organisations to collectively understand and address the cultural needs of children and young people and increase opportunities for culture and creativity in their lives” (Lewisham Cultural Strategy – July 2023)
From April 2024, LEAN has brought together over 30 Arts and organisations and schools to form LCEP, forming a steering group of 47 stakeholders. We have worked together to establish shared aims and an action plan through a Theory of Change. Central to this is improving communication between schools and arts organisations and maximizing opportunities to share resources and funding streams.
By March 2025, the steering group had developed a Theory of Change and action plans for implementing the six short-term outcomes identified in the ToC.
| 1. A collaborative partnership approach is established to sustain and increase a broad range of arts & cultural opportunities for by & with young people
2. An increase in arts and cultural activities that are visible, accessible and meet the needs of CYP and their families 3. Practitioners responsible for delivering arts and cultural provision have the knowledge and skills to inspire and excite CYP to engage in arts and cultural opportunities 4. Schools in Lewisham feel supported, informed and equipped to provide a rich cultural curriculum and wider arts and culture offer 5. Schools, youth settings and careers advisors are equipped to provide information about a range of creative careers and pathways 6. Arts and cultural organisations feel informed and confident to meet the needs of CYP, their families and schools within their programming |

The partnership has now set up working group to focus initially on outcomes 2, 3 and 4 and will continue to meet termly as a larger group.
