About the Event

A conference for the creative industries especially for those whose role it is to support and develop others, Cr8net will bring together leaders in the sector from across the globe to discuss the pressure points of the industry.

The one-day conference –one of the most significant gatherings of industry practitioners, policy makers and creative businesses – taking place at the innovative Village Underground in Shoreditch on Wednesday 24th April 2011, 9:00am – 5:30pm.

Audience

The target attendees will include national, London based and local business support providers, cultural and creative networks, professional services, suppliers, buyers, employers, funders, information resources and training providers – all of which support or offer services to the creative industries sector.

Previous attendees include representatives from Tate Modern, Pinewood Studios, Arts Council England, Arts & Business, Crafts Council as well as several leading universities such as the University of the Arts London, Goldsmiths University, Kings College and the University of East London.

Job Description

CIDA are looking for volunteers to assist with the smooth-running of this high profile event. The main duties will include:

 • Assisting with the set-up of the event

• Assisting at the registration desk [delegates to sign in upon arrival]

• Ushering delegates into the main conference space

• Ensuring the smooth running of the refreshment breaks

• Assisting with directing delegates to key areas of the venue [toilet facilities and fire exits]

• Supporting CIDA on the smooth running of the event as a whole

This is an unpaid opportunity. Travel and food expenses will be paid for. You must be available for a briefing on Wednesday 17th April 2011, 11.30am – 12pm at Village Underground.

All volunteers will need to start at 8am and work through until 6pm on the 24th April 2012 [refreshment breaks will be provided]. This is a great way for you to get some experience for your CV, as well as attending the conference and listening to the discussions taking place.
