Fundraising officer
An opportunity to join Greenwich Music School as it expands to improve access to high quality music education in South East London.
7.5 hours/week
Remuneration: an hourly rate of £18, including holiday entitlement.
This a self-employed position. The work will begin in Spring 2020 and will be for an initial period of 12 weeks and may then continue by agreement. Hours are flexible and remote working can be considered, although availability for meetings in Greenwich is desirable. Work space at our teaching rooms can be provided between 9am and 2.30pm on weekdays.
The role will include:
• Researching potential funding sources including charitable trusts and foundations
• Identifying opportunities to fund elements of our existing programme
• Writing applications
• Developing relationships and generating reports to secure future support
• Generating reports for funders
• Customising information for specific purposes
• Assisting with other aspects of fundraising such as community and online donations
We are looking for someone who:
• Has significant experience and success in applying for funding, particularly in arts and education
• Has experience working with trusts and foundations
• Has excellent communication skills including in writing, and is able to write persuasive and professional applications
• Has a clear understanding of our ethos and of the value of our work
• Can think creatively about ways to fundraise
• Understands privacy requirements and keeping personal data safe
• Is proactive, efficient and able to manage time effectively without direct supervision
Greenwich Music School provides access to high quality music education which enriches lives and enables artistic, creative and personal growth of people in Greenwich and surrounding areas. We are looking for inspiring, experienced teachers to join our team!
Cello: initially Monday after school, c.2-5 hours by agreement – or a different day may be possible.
Saxophone, flute, clarinet: initially Saturday morning, c.2-5 hours by agreement – or a different day may be possible.
Remuneration: an hourly rate of £30.30 including holiday entitlement for individual tuition, £33.30 for group tuition.
Teaching takes place at Vanbrugh Studio (SE10 9HP) and will include individual tuition and a group class for up to six beginners aged 6-7, using our outline curriculum.
Expertise teaching small groups of beginners/early stage players is essential.
We are a growing organisation so further blocks of teaching are likely to be available over the next years.
Positions are self-employed, hours are by agreement and based during term time, with some additional holiday teaching by agreement.
