The Town Centre Small Grants Fund can cover the cost of all, or part of, any activity, event, marketing and promotion of events, that will safely attract people to any of the borough’s town centres and high streets.
This may include promotional websites, markets and festivities, parades and outdoor performances, pop-up exhibitions, marketing and promotion of existing events or activities.
This is part of Lewisham Council’s plans to support local businesses and town centres in their recovery from the economic impact of COVID-19. This programme is being funded by the Welcome Back Fund (European Regional Development Fund money which has been provided by the Government to local authorities).

Who can apply?
- Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations
- Registered charities
- Trader groups
- Arts or cultural organisations
- Business networks
- Individual businesses that can demonstrate they have engaged with others who will benefit from the project
- Education providers.

For projects that will be delivered in December, applications must be submitted by 12 noon on 30 November 2021.
For projects to be delivered between Jan- March 2022, applications must be submitted by 12 noon on 22 December 2021.
If you are able to submit your application before the deadlines, we may be able to review and make a decision on them more quickly. Please note – applications for projects to be delivered in December will be prioritised given the quick turnaround required for decision and award notification.
