The V&A Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green is part of the V&A family of museums and houses the nations finest and largest childhood collections.
This demanding position involves providing leadership and management to the learning team, leading on a new learning strategy for the museum; ensuring that visitor figures, expenditure and income generation targets are being met; acting as an advocate and ambassador for the V&A Museum of Childhood; advising the director on learning issues; direct responsibility for the family and adult programmes; contributing to fundraising applications and managing large scale projects.
You will represent the learning team on the museums senior management team and at the V&A Trustee sub-committee meetings. You must have solid experience of working in a museum, arts or similar institution, as well as a post graduate qualification in education, museums or arts fields or equivalent professional experience. Experience of managing projects and good budget control is essential. You must have proven experience in managing staff at various levels and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
