The Horniman Museum and Gardens are looking for a new Volunteer Coordinator and Volunteer Manager

The Horniman's Volunteering Programme supports over 300 individuals each year in varied roles across all areas of the museum’s work. We are looking for to recruit for two roles; Volunteering Coordinator and Volunteering Manager.

We are looking for a Volunteering Coordinator who will be instrumental in coordinating and supporting the delivery of Engage (the museum’s visitor-facing volunteer programme), coordinating student placements and volunteering within museum departments, and providing critical administrative and communications support to the team.

You will be a motivated, flexible individual with a balance of skills in programme coordination, delivery and administration. As well as being systematic and organized you’ll be able to work appropriately and sensitively with our diverse range of volunteers and visitors, and will be an enthusiastic and knowledgeable advocate of volunteering.

Full time, £24,470 per annum

We are looking for a part-time Volunteering Manager to oversee the direction and delivery of the Horniman’s volunteering programmes, translating our corporate priorities into opportunities that benefit the museum, our visitors, individual volunteers and the wider community. You will be responsible for developing and managing the Horniman’s relationship with our large volunteering community and referral partners, and will oversee two coordinators to deliver our programmes, supporting over 300 individuals each year in four areas:  our visitor-facing Engage programme, student placements, varied behind-the-scenes roles and Youth volunteering activities.

You will be an experienced volunteer management specialist who is passionate about the value of volunteering and committed to championing best practice in volunteer management and building positive collaborative relationships across the Horniman. You will be keen to apply your experience in managing volunteers in relevant public sector, heritage or cultural contexts to this new challenge.

Part time, 17.5 hours per week, £33,903 per annum pro rata
