The Barbican is seeking a Schools Engagement Manager

The School Engagement Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Barbican and Guildhall School's world class arts and learning offer is made available to, and engages, schools and colleges from across the City, East London and nationally.

This presents an exciting opportunity to develop and maintain a strong network of contacts across the City, East London and regionally, including close collaboration with local authority/ies and City and East London Cultural Education Partnerships, as well as leading the Associate Schools programme. The Schools Engagement Manager will work in close collaboration with colleagues in the Creative Learning, Marketing, Artform and Audience Experience departments. 

The Barbican delivers a range of programmes involving music, theatre, visual arts, cinema, dance and literature both within and beyond the walls of the Barbican. This all happens in partnership with the Guildhall School, as well as in close collaboration with our other resident and associate companies. The Creative Learning department works across the Barbican Centre and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama to develop and deliver an innovative range of programmes, activities and events designed to support people of all ages and backgrounds to access the arts. The department works with a wide variety of strategic and delivery partners at local, national and international level in the planning and delivery of its work. 

Candidates should have excellent communication skills, significant experience of working with/ in schools and a good knowledge of trends within the education sector. You should also possess interpersonal skills of the highest calibre and be able to use your own initiative in getting things going. 

1 Years Fixed Term Contract (maternity cover), full time
Salary Range: £35,090 – £39,680 (including London Weighting) per-year pro-rata depending on experience/performance during an interview.
