The Bank of America Merrill Lynch CREATE Art Award is the largest participatory art award in the UK. This annual award helps artists living or working within the London 2012 host boroughs to deliver brand new public art commissions as part of the CREATE Festival. The award aims to open up exciting opportunities for artists to work with their neighbours: the residents of the London 2012 host boroughs. In turn, it gives local people a chance to engage with major art projects happening in their neighbourhoods.

Although the application needs to be from an artist or organisations based in one of the host boroughs (Greenwich , Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Barking & Dagenham) – it is open to collaborations with artists and organisations in other boroughs.
