Start is a grant-giving programme set up by
Children & the Arts to enable schoolchildren to experience the very best of
the arts by introducing them to a local cultural venue enhancing their experiences
through critical analysis and participation and encouraging them to create their own art.
The programme provides the support, infrastructure and ideas for arts venues to connect with
local schools who arent already engaging their pupils in creative experiences
outside of school.
Through Start, Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts annually supports
between 8 to 10 arts venues across the UK to create strong, long-term
partnerships with local schools in deprived areas.
The
current application round relates to project activity to be delivered between
September 2015 July 2016 only. The deadline for Stage One applications
is 5pm on Friday 30 January 2015.
