Posted: 06/06/2022

We are delighted and proud to have been commissioned by the Liberty Festival part of the London Borough of Culture programme in Lewisham to produce our first Tyre Pressure laboratory. Liberty Festival is a three day festival across Lewisham, celebrating the work of D/deaf, disabled, and neurodiverse artists.

Responding to the idea of ‘Freedom of Movement’, we’re looking for up to 3 curious and playful creative makers and doers (aka multidisciplinary or anti-disciplinary artists) to explore these ideas in a collaborative setting.

Details

Dates: Friday 22 July–Sunday 24 July

Fee: £173 per day

Location: Deptford Lounge, London, SE8 3RJ

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a range of artists who identify as marginalised or underrepresented in the arts, and have a taste for experimentation and creative activism. You may be a performer, writer, musician, movement specialist, puppeteer, visual artist, designer (please add your own if we have missed yours). We want to ensure that we centre the voices, experiences, and talents of people from groups marginalised by so-called mainstream interests. You do not need to be a loud-voiced workshop leader, but you do need to be willing to work alongside our co-creators from the community.

How to apply

We know that turnaround times are short and forms are long, so to apply to be part of the Free Movement Lab please use a format you feel comfortable with (a short letter, voice note, video…) to tell Rebecca:

* why you would like to be part of Tyre Pressure, and what interests you about the concept

* how is what we do, and aim to do, reflected in your professional skills and interests

* what are you bringing as a person as well as a creative practitioner

Please also send us:

* Your CV, maximum 2 sides of A4

* For safeguarding–two referees details

* A completed Diversity Monitoring Form, which is anonymised and detached from your application

The deadline for applications is 10am, Wednesday 22 June 2022. Please send your application to producer@sparetyre.org. If you would like to speak to one of us about this project, or have access requirements you would like to discuss beforehand, you can contact us by:
