This post will primarily be responsible for the delivery of our popular programme workshops and planetarium shows for nursery and infant school groups (EYFS and KS1, including ages 3-7). These use songs, music and story-telling to deliver simple and engaging learning outcomes.

The post-holder must have well-developed singing and storytelling skills, excellent presenting skills and a good understanding of child development and the EYFS and KS1 curricula. They must also have a solid track record of delivering similar work elsewhere for children aged 3 to 7. Basic scientific knowledge is desirable but not necessary.

The post-holder will receive training on the delivery of relevant workshops and planetarium shows and on answering simple astronomy questions typically asked by very young children.

They will work alongside a second Nursery & Infants Presenter and with the wider team, reporting to the Senior Manager for Science Education.

This is a partime role of 4 hours per week. The salary is £1,714 – £2,235 (£23,000-£30,000 pro rata)
