GLYPT creates and delivers an extensive range of participatory and
theatre work for young people. It is based at The Tramshed in Woolwich,
and works across Greenwich, Lewisham and London-wide. Its
participatory programme includes an established supportive programme for
vulnerable young people, including those with moderate learning
difficulties and disabilities.
We are starting a new theatre company for young adults (18+) with
moderate learning difficulties and disabilities: Reach Theatre Company.
During its current transition period, Reach Theatre Company has twelve
key company members with wide-ranging learning difficulties and
disabilities. They have keen interests and skills in theatre and other
art forms, technical theatre and design.
The company meets on Wednesday evenings between 6pm and 8pm
(term-time only). Although within the funding framework for this
programme there are additional resources for holiday or intensive
programmes.
We are seeking a Freelance Company Director who has had experience of
directing work within a community setting and a specific interest in
working with adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. Working
alongside our Participation Manager you will take responsibility for
direction and delivery of this new programme, engaging the company
members in a variety of small-scale and long-term projects and helping
to support with the programming of extended participatory projects
during holiday periods.
Freelance fixed term contract: April 2015 – December 2016 (term-time project, plus additional holiday course)
Fee: £90 per session (10 sessions x 5 terms, plus additional holiday project fees)
