Through socially engaged practice, develop a public art commission for the hospital grounds
Open Until:
Posted: 10/03/2022
A key feature of the project will be to involve mental health service-users and communities in the process of developing and informing the design brief for the commission. This will be achieved through sessions working with film animators who have been commissioned to capture the ideas and wishes of those consulted.
Through evaluation of the project the commissioners also hope to advance understanding of participants’ experiences of participatory arts for health and wellbeing, and the role of arts in challenging perceptions of mental health, and the impact on health and wellbeing.
Expressions of Interest are now being invited from suitably experienced practitioners to be considered for a selected shortlist for phase two of the commission. A small fee will be available for 3 practitioners to develop Tender submissions in response to the phase one engagement programme and brief.
Budget: £30,000 (including all costs and disbursements) has been identified for the design, construction and installation of the final piece.
Please send a pdf document including your CV and up to 3 relevant projects that demonstrate your suitability for the public art commission to Jane.Leighton@visionrcl.org.uk
Deadline: noon on 19 April.
Successful practitioners will be notified by Wednesday 1 May and the deadline for full Tender submissions is Wednesday 15 May 2013.
