Programme Producer, Arika

The Programme Producer is a key role at Arika, working with the team to transform programme ideas into practical projects. Working collaboratively with artists, partner organisations, community groups and freelance staff, the Producer will effectively manage the practical delivery of the programme in 2021 and early 2022.

Key responsibilities will include production & event
management, scheduling, budget management, artists and partner liaison,
production staff management and recruitment, and managing access
provisions. 
 
Arika is a political arts
organisation with 18+ years of experience in delivering a variety of
live art projects and festivals. Both in public programme of
Episodes and in Local Organising work they host and organise social
aesthetic spaces that use experimental approaches to art and
aesthetics as ways of deepening collective knowledge about political
desires and struggles. 
 
Arika particularly encourage
applications from people who are currently underrepresented in the
Scottish and UK arts sector, including people from lower socio-economic
backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ people, people with caring responsibilities,
people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, people who
experience racism, disabled and neurodivergent people and people in the
d/Deaf community. Arika are currently undertaking some careful
reflective work with a view to ensuring their policies, recruitment
processes and working culture are aligned with their political commitments
to radical care.
 
Period of Contract:
Fixed term, approx. 10 months. Starting from late June / early July 2021, ending on 31st March 2022.
 
Hours and Flexible Working:
Part
time, 22.5 hours per week over 3 days with occasional evening work and
additional days around the more intensive parts of the programme. Hours
can be worked flexibly by negotiation with the co-director to
accommodate external work, health or caring commitments and the needs of
the programme.
 
Salary:
Approximately
£14,730 PAYE over the 10-month contract. On a three day a week contract
this is approximately £1,473 salary a month which equates to £113.30
per day. This is equivalent to £29,458 annual salary pro rata, before
deductions for tax and NI.
